Old and new
Posted on November 17th, 2011 by Red Wing Shoes
The guys from the Red Wing Shoe Store in Hamburg have been fans of our brand long before they opened the store. If you need a prove, visit their store! It shows some of their ’older’ pairs. Worn during their juvenile party-years, at their first motorbike-ride or when they bought their first home… Their boots give a good impression on what they will grow into once they leave our factory in Red Wing.
Opening European Headquarters

We have moved our head-office. Since July we are based in the old harbor of Amsterdam. It took the team some sweat and late nights but in the end the new office and showroom next door are all set to go. We’re proud of the result and took the opportunity to throw a party. Here’s some snapshots. Thanks to Ika for the images.
The Crazy Horse Monument – Five men against the mountain
Posted on November 8th, 2011 by Red Wing Shoes
In 1939, a monument similar to Mount Rushmore was requested in order to immortalize on sacred ground the Oglala Lakota war hero, Crazy Horse, and to celebrate the Indian Nation. In 1948, a small group of craftsmen took over the monumental task of sculpting the mountain into a man. “Crazy Horse” documents the devotion they give each day in pursuit of perfection. It’s the story of five men against the mountain.
The Crazy Horse monument is a task which will surpass the team’s lifetime. Like all well-crafted achievements, it will not only live on as a tribute to those it represents, but as a tribute to the perseverance of those who built it.
